Denotation - Daye's Channel

Sets, Props, Actors
Daye is the main host of her vlogs. The set and props are her living environment. Her channel consists of how she lives her daily life (what she eats, what she sees, what she does, etc) so these locations become her background for her video. Also, during her travel videos, different countries become her main set where she introduces the popular places or things that she did. During her fashion content, one of the main props is her full body mirror to show her entire outfit. Moreover, she uses are daily bag and stuff inside her bag in one of her videos to introduce the products she uses as props.

Makeup, Costuming, Lighting
Most of the time during her video, the lighting consists of natural lighting. She does not use artificial lights during her videos. Her consumption is one of her video contents as well. More specifically what she is wearing that day or suggestions of her favorite fashion items. These introductions of outfits are present in almost every video. During her daily vlogs and travel vlogs, she includes what she will be or is wearing fr that day.

During most of her videos, she utilizes a lot of cuts and wipes transitions to shorten the length of her travels to prevent the viewer from losing interest. A lot of her videos contain sound bridges to keep the continuity of the song and the mood of the scene. This helps draw the viewers' attention.

Camera shots, Movement, Viewpoint

The overall camera style of her video is made of first-person view, which means that the angle of the camera is synced with the view of the owner of the channel, Daye. Moreover, there are worm eye shots, zoom in and outs, and camera panning techniques to increase the feeling of liveliness during her travel or daily vlog videos. Moreover, during her fashion content videos, the camera is placed at the center of the frame which gives a view of being in front of Daye making it easier to see her outfits.

Narrative Style

Daye's main form of communication with the audience is through subtitles. During her videos, Daye does not talk in through the camera, but her thoughts or ideas are placed at the bottom of the screen through text. Moreover, during her fashion item suggestion contents, she places the information of the outfits or the items of her suggestion either in the middle or on the side of the video. She utilizes the description tab below the video to add information to her video or communicate with the viewers.

The overall color of the video is very warm. The videos consist of warm music and are very calm overall.
